Pink Persimmons NEW RELEASE stamp set - "Classic Pattern" tag

I'm lovin' these stamp sets!!!  How about you??  This tag showcases "Classic Pattern" a little better than the layout did yesterday.  I combined it with this little spool die from the Tim Holtz / Sizzix "Sewing Room" die set.  I am excited to be the new owner of not only the "Sewing Room" set, but the "Sewing Machine and Bobbins" set as well (thank you Joann's for having 40% off coupons)!!!  SQUEALLLL!!!

Check out the this little pair of scissors.  Did some fussy cuttin' on that image!  Couldn't help it, they were just screamin' to be hung from somewhere.

I just loved the titles "Handmade" combined with the "for you"!  Perfect for a tag.
and check out the little "Scalloped Tag"  ... it's a punch by Martha Stewart.

Check out ALL 3 of the new sets "Sewing Notions", "Classic Pattern", and "Bluebird Buttons" stamps over at the Pink Persimmon Store HERE.

Hope you enjoyed today's project.  Stop back by tomorrow for another project featuring Pink Persimmons's New Release!

hugs,
Melisa

Pink Persimmon Card and Artist Trading Card

On the card above I used "Sweetheart Silk Card" with "Vintage Greetings".  Combine these great vintage images with a few dies and you can put this card together quick.  The dies are Quickutz (buttons / flowers on dress form), Cheery Lynn (doily) and Spellbinders (dress form).

All of these newly released images are all about 2.5 x 3.5.  Perfect for ATC's as long as you don't want a border.  The edges of the of the Baby Pearls measures 2.5" x 3.5".  There is a small amount of space around  the edges of  the images for Men's Buttons, Mermaid Pearls, Sweetheart Silk Card, and Happy Girl.  The Mini Bingo Card measure 2 5/8" x 3 5/8".  So if you used it for an ATC, you would trim away some of the solid border.   And of course the are perfect size for cardmaking and scrapbooking.  I love how Mermaid Pearls, Baby Pearls, and Happy Girl have those little boxes perfect for journaling, well at least for those of you who like your own handwriting.  I can tell you I don't like mine and what I would do is type it up, then cut the center of the boxes out creating a little window and then lay the image over my typed journaling.

So what do you think??
When you look at the images, what type projects do you start dreaming up??

Speaking of ATC's ...

2.5" x 3.5" Artist Trading Card

Not really an ATC person??
Well, do what I"m going to do with this one .....  put it on the front of a card.  I will share it again later when it's all done.  I couldn't resist creating it when I seen the banner challenge over at "Fun with ATC's".  They post challenges every 2 weeks so you still have time to enter if you like creating ATC's.  I used "Small Banner Set" and the birds and sentiments from "Singing Birds".

Well that's it for today.  Hopefully very soon I will be finishing up some more Mixed Media projects and scrapbook layouts to share!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Pink Persimmon "Vintage Girl"

Hello Papercrafters!  I just wanted to drop back into today to share with you a new release form Pink Persimmon.   This set is called "Hello Vintage Girl".   Sewing images are really in style right now, so I think stampers are going to LOVE this set.  I had so much fun paper piecing her.  And I love the clever sentiment that comes with it.  The image is tall, so the card is 5 x7.   There are lots of other idea's for using this set over on the Pink Persimmon blog today HERE.  And you can check this set out in the store HERE.
6x6 paper pads are perfect for paper peicing your stamp images.  For her blouse, I used a sheet from My Minds Eye - Gertie, and the skirt is from Cosmo Cricket - Odds and Ends.  I just love the buttons.  They are made by Dress It Up and can be found at stores like Hobby Lobby and Michaels.  I love the vintage look of them and the package comes with multiple colors.  The background paper is older - Melissa Frances and the shaped page is Making Memories.  I got this booklet from Hobby Lobby.  They may still have some.
I hope you are inspired to get crafty this week!
Have a great day,  Melisa

Crafty Secrets Sew Special Set

Good Morning!  I'm so excited to share with you that I was chosen to be the Guest Designer over at ABC Toys and Crafts this week!  Don't be fooled by the name.  The tools they sell are "our kinda toys", teehee!!  You know how I love Crafty Secrets, right !??   Well, they sell Crafty Secrets and many other stamp manufacturers.  Plus lots of other cool stuff like Spellbinders, border punches, copics, ink ...
Today I'm sharing a layout and card I designed using Crafty Secrets "Sew Special".

I created my own embellishments and background DP using the stamps.  The floral DP is from one of Crafty Secrets Paper Pads.  Don't you just love the faux stitching.  Thank goodness I have faux stitching, because I would be lost on a sewing machine, teehee.

Tip / Technique : Modeling Paste
I added some texture with a fabric swatch and some modeling paste (see the circle cluster along the bottom). It's really easy to work with the modeling paste and it adds so much texture to your work.  Lay a metal dry embossing stencil over your paper.  Use a spackling knife or old credit card to smear the modeling paste over the stencil until the holes are filled.  Clean off your knife and go across the stencil again, smoothing off the top.  Let dry.  Now just rub over with inks or paints.  You can sand it as well.   I happen to have 2 brands of modeling paste.  They both seem to work well.  The first one is by Liquitex and you can purchase it at a local craft store in the artist section.  The second is called an Embossing Paste and it is made by Dream Weaver.  Dream Weaver sells their own line of metal emobossing stencils as well.  I like doing this so much, I'm going to be on the look out for more patterns that would look good in the background of my work.
