Artist Trading Cards / Impression Obsession

The Impression Obsession DT has hosted a challenge to create a project using NO Patterned Paper. That's usually a tough on for me. Here is an ATC I designed last summer that qualifies. Yes I hand cut all of those little pieces - cuticle sissors was the only way to go! I used pumus for the sand and tissue paper/modge podge for the water.

My challenge to you is to not only leave off the patterned paper, but to add some texture in some way as well!
I will be pulling out more of my Impression Obsession stamps this weekend to try and create a new project for this challenge as well!

Gina K - "Just Keep Swimming"

Summer is almost here! I love summer colors!
I created this one for a challenge at Stamp TV usning this cute little set. I used H20 watercolors on my fish. I used a brayer and a Kaleidacolor ink pad for the background. I LOVE that pad. I just bought another one yesterday, "cappuccino delight". I can't wait to use it.

Have a great day!

Altered Wooden Mail boxes

Wow I haven't posted on this blog in forever!! That's becuase I've been so busy posting on my TAC blog. If you want to check out some of those projects : paperliciousdesigns.blogspot.com.

So I wanted to take a minute to upload an old project that I don't think I have ever uploaded anywhere. I came up with this idea to start a family tradition where for the month of Feb, on and off, we leave each other little goodies or words of encouragement. We KNOW our family loves us and supports us all year round, but sometimes it's nice to get those little love notes. It's nice to see that someone takes a minute out of their day to remember us. So for the month of Feb. I set out these little love mail boxes so that we can do that. Some of the "characters" my family will be seeing, Hello Kitty, Mickey Mouse, and Kung Fu Panda. I will leave some more serious love notes and of course some candy as well.

Valentine Treat Box

Valentine Candy Box
I got this adorable candy box in the wedding section at Walmart. So this mini gift was so easy to put together. I used 2 stamps from my "Forever" set to create the tag. I stamped the frame twice. Once in Brilliance Rocket Red and once in VersaFine Onyx Black. I embossed both with Tsukinek Clear Embossing Powder. I trimmed the florishes off the edge of the red frame and then glued on top of the black version so that the black flourishes now extend out. I stamped "Be Mine" sentiment in the center and embossed as well. I glued this onto the box and then added my cupid die. So easy!

Supplies List
Stamp Set : Forever
Ink : Brilliance Rocket Red, VersaFine Onyx Black
Other : Tsukinek Clear Embossing Powder
Candy box - Walmart, Ribbon - unknown, Cupid Die - Quickutz

Valentine Coaster Gift Box

This one is pretty easy to put together.  You need 5 coasters.  Run red and black cardstock through the Cuttlebug.   Adhere coasters to the back of the panels and then trim around edges.  Create a hole punch guide to use so that all of your holes are equal on each coaster and then punch holes.  Connect at each corner by lacing ribbon,  using a criss cross pattern on the front.  This creates 2 horizontal lines lines on the inside.  This is important becuase you will set the 5th coaster inside the box, resting on the bottom line of ribbon in each corner.  See corner below.  This gives the bottom some support.

Use Aleene's Tacky glue to adhere to the ribbon corners and then along the bottom around the edges, adhering it to the sides.

Now just use your stamps to embellish the front!

This one is pretty easy to create.  I used dies to create my own little felt birds, and the polka dot heart.  I used a heart punch for bird wings.  The background is a TAC stamp.  I hand typed the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!
